ODAC Weekly Update – Week of October 13-19, 2025 (Updated at 12:00 pm NOON on Tuesday, October 14, 2025)

 

The repairs to the air handling unit at the Great Bridge pool have not been completed yet due to shipping issues with the necessary parts.  We anticipate that the issue will be resolved within the next day or so and are looking at a return date for those swimmers and families utilizing the Great Bridge pool as of Thursday, October 16, 2025.  We appreciate everyone's cooperation with these circumstances as we work to resolve it as soon as possible.  The ODAC office will keep all families updated as we work to get the bubble up and running.

Due to this:

All Great Bridge Aft and evening practice groups will shift to our Honey Bee pool on Tuesday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 15, and follow their regular practice times.

Coach Steve will be sending an email to all ODAC families later today detailing the situation with the bubble.

 

Practice Schedule and Adjustments

On Friday – all afternoon and evening 11-12, 9-10, and super squad practices at both Great Bridge and Honey Bee are canceled due to the ODAC Trunk’nTreat.

On Friday – all senior 3 and senior 2 swimmers will be combined with senior 1 from 4:30 to 6:15 PM at the Great Bridge pool. Senior swimmers will then set up for the Trunk’nTreat.

 

General Information

  • The Trunk’nTreat is scheduled for Friday, October 17th, 2025, at the Great Bridge Swim and Racquet Club tennis courts. All ODAC 12 and unders are welcome to attend dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. All 8-and-under swimmers are invited as of 6:45 PM, and all 9- to 12-year-old swimmers are invited as of 7 PM. The Trunk’nTreat event will last until 8 PM.
  • Warm-up and start time for the rescheduled Sunday, October 12th, 2025, session of the Atlantic Coast Clash.  The new date is Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at the Princess Anne YMCA. Warm-ups start at 1:20 PM with a 2 PM start time.

Your dedication, teamwork, and willingness to show up and get your hands dirty truly define the ODAC spirit. Projects of this scale don’t just happen—they rely on the strength of our volunteers. Without your continued support and involvement, accomplishments like the bubble wouldn’t be possible.
